THE AMSTERDAM Dance Event (ADE) has chosen France as the focus country for its 24th edition, which will take place from 16 to 20 October.

Mariana Sanchotene, director of the festival and electronic music industry conference says France, in recent years, has been a hub of musical innovation across the many sub-genres of electronic music.

“On top of that, the French technological scene has been a successful breeding ground for music and culture related start-ups,” she explains. “During ADE we aim to showcase the best of the new players as well as pay homage to the rich culture that France has to offer.”

Conference speakers include Amazon chief technology officer Dr Werner Vogels, while performers at the festival will include New Order, Nick Murphy and Richie Hawtin.

Last year’s ADE featured 2,500 performers and attracted around 550 conference speakers across multiple venues.
