AEG Presents, a majority owner of the multi-stage Firefly Music Festival, has bought the remaining shares in the 30,000-capacity event from Chicago-based Red Frog Events.

Founded in 2012 and held at The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware. AEG Presents and subsidiary Goldenvoice have co-produced the festival with Red Frog Events since 2014.

Headliners at the 14-17 July festival included the Killers, Artic Monkeys and Kendrick Lamar.

“From day one, we have always believed that Firefly is one of North America’s most special festivals,” says AEG Presents chief operating officer of festivals Melissa Ormond,. “Combined with the full commitment of AEG Presents’ resources, there is no doubt that the best is yet to come.”

Several core team members who have managed Firefly since its inception have joined the AEG team, including festival director and co-founder Stephanie Mezzano, who will continue as festival director.
