NEW YORK-based The Bowery Presents has started construction of a 3,500-capacity concert venue at Boston Landing, a mixed use development in Boston’s Brighton neighbourhood.

Work is expected to be completed by late 2021.

“We take great pride in the business our team has developed in Boston, and this new venue will be an exciting new addition to our Boston family,” say Bowery Presents partners Jim Glancy and John Moore in a statement.

The new venue further expands the company’s presence in the area, where it already owns and/or books The Royale (cap. 1,200), The Sinclair (525) and Great Scott (220).

Meanwhile, the company has appointed Don Simpson to the newly-created position of chief operating officer (COO). He was most recently COO of The Feldman Agency in Canada.  His role is to seek new venue opportunities, oversee building upgrades and review operations to maximise potential across the company’s portfolio.

The Bowery Presents is a division of global promoter AEG Presents; which acquired it in 2016.
