Cirque du Soleil acquires VStar Entertainment

World News
July 8, 2018

Cirque du Soleil Entertainment (CSE) has acquired Minnesota-based VStar Entertainment Group and its Florida-based circus arts subsidiary Cirque Dreams.

Montreal-based Cirque du Soleil acquisition of the companies follows its purchase of the Blue Man Group last year.

VStar specialises in stage adaptions of children TV shows and brands from cable channels Nickelodeon and Spin Master, such as PAW Patrol, Sesame Street Live and Barney.

PAW Patrol Live Race to the Rescue toured in 250 cities in 18 countries last year.

“While circus arts will always be at the core of our creative offering, we continue to look for ways to expand and diversify our portfolio with new forms of entertainment and brands, reaching new audiences and expanding our creative and production capabilities”, says CSE president and CEO Daniel Lamarre.
