Applications are being taken for emerging artistes to perform at Canadian Music Week (CMW).

The festival showcase and conference, held in Toronto, gives upcoming acts the opportunity to play in front of booking agents, A&R reps and festival programmers from across the world.

“This is the perfect way to shine a spotlight on some of the most promising new artistes around,” says CMW president Neill Dixon.

The 37th CMW will see more than 600 bands performing at 40 venues across the city between 6 to 12 May.

The deadline for submissions is 7 January. Tickets for CVMW cost CA$699 (US$538).
