House music supergroup have announced they will headline (cap.) in 2019.
Having only played one shows during a five-year hiatus, Swedish House Mafia have decided that headlining the 70,000-capacity Creamfields festival will be their only UK show next year.
“We are excited to have Swedish House Mafia back at Creamfields, having had a long-standing relationship with the guys, whether that was back at Nation [club] in the early 2000s, performing at Creamfields, promoting their tours or their last performance in the UK at Milton Keynes Bowl [50,000],” says a Cream spokeswoman.
“They’ve always delivered an amazing performance at Creamfields and this will be another level – to have them close the festival and this being their only UK show,.”
A joint statement from the band says, “The UK truly is our second home … whether it be at our very first Creamfields or our last Milton Keynes Bowl, we want to bring it back to the festival.”
Tickets for Creamfields went on sale on 30 November. Acts at this year’s event included The Chainsmokers, Adam Beyer and Giggs.
