Festival X celebrates 100,000 in Year 1

AFTER A successful inaugural year, touring event Festival X will expand to two weekends and visit new cities with its 2020 edition.

The first events took place between 28 November and 1 December at Auckland’s Spark Arena (cap. 12,000) in New Zealand, Brisbane Showgrounds (25,490), Sydney Showgrounds (10,000) and Melbourne Showgrounds (4,300).

The festivals are run by a promoting partnership comprising Live Nation Australia, Onelove and Hardware.

“We’re thrilled to see 100,000 live music fans come together for the first annual edition of Festival X,” says Onelove’s Frank Cotela from.

“Audiences in all states treated each other with respect and unity, looking after each other and sharing the love of live music, so we can’t thank attendees enough for joining us on this amazing journey.”

Live Nation Australasia CEO Roger Field says, “Festival X exceeded all of our expectations and we are so proud to have worked with Hardware and Onelove to deliver an incredible event.”

Artistes appearing included Calvin Harris, Armin van Buuren and Alison Wonderland.

Tickets started from A$154.95 (US$103) in Brisbane and A$159.95 (US$107) in Sydney and Melbourne.
