German pan-Europe festival and concert promoter FKP Scorpio has acquired a 25 per cent stake in Danish agency smash!bang!pow!.

The Copenhagen-based promoter stages concerts with artistes such as Tash Sultana at the KB Hallen (cap. 4,900) and Skepta at Tap1 (6,500), and also works with domestic acts.

“As an independent concert promoter, we’ve reached a glass ceiling for our growth,” says smash!bang!pow! director Nikolaj Thorenfeldt. “We want to climb higher up the food chain, and this requires more resources and a strong international network.”

FKP Scorpio CEO Folkert Koopmans adds, “The Danish music scene is in an incredibly exciting development right now, and its concert market is flourishing.

“We’re pleased that, through our collaboration with smash!bang!pow!, we get a local partner with a healthy approach to the business and an agency culture that is driven by a real love for the music and the scene in which it stems.”
