Fullsteam for another Ed Sheeran record

World News
October 31, 2018

Promoter Fullsteam Agency hopes its Ed Sheeran concerts next year will break U2’s attendance record, set eight years ago.

To be held at Malmi Airport in the north-east of the capital Helsinki, the first of the two 60,000-capacity shows sold out within 20 minutes of going on sale and Fullsteam’s Rauha Kyyrö is cautiously optimistic for a new record.

“I’ve been working on getting Ed Sheeran to Finland since about 2010, so it’s amazing to do his first shows at this level,” Kyyrö tells Audience.

“Malmi Airfield is the biggest and best site available site for a show like this and closer to Helsinbki than the alternative at Hämeenlinna [cap. 55,000].

“The current all-time audience record here is held by U2 with 106,000 people across two shows in Helsinki in 2010. It would be great to break that record.”

The concerts will take place on 23-24 May, with tickets priced at €93.50 ($108).

Other upcoming shows promoted by Fullsteam, which has been part of Germany-based pan-Europe festival and concert promoter FKP Scorpio since 2014, feature Nightwish, Tom Odell, Eros Ramazotti, First Aid Kit, Haken and Flogging Molly.
