Goldstar for FKP Scorpio

World News
December 2, 2017

Promoter Goldstar, which works with artistes such as Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Sigur Ros and Arctic Monkeys, has been acquired by Germany’s FKP Scorpio Konzertproduktionen.

Few details of the deal have been disclosed, but Goldstar founder Torgeir Gullaksen will run the new company, FKP Scorpio Norge, with his existing staff from the same Oslo office.

“It’s harder and harder to be small and independent,” says Gullaksen , who launched Goldstar 12 years ago. “In FKP Scorpio we have found a partner who is a big player, but has kept its indie mentality. This allows us to continue doing what we love and do best, but now as part of a large European company with similar values to our own.”

Majority owned by German pan-Europe ticketing giantr CTS Eventim, FKP, also has offices in Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands.

“Norway is a fantastic country with a very vivid live music scene,” says FKP CEO Folkert Koopmans.

“Since Torgeir and his team have been reliable partners to us over many years, this feels like the natural next step.”
