THE 35,000-capacity Sweden Rock Festival has promoted Kalle Blomgren to the position of head booker, starting with next year’s line-up.

Blomgren has been working at the event since 2005 as the head of artiste service and recently as a part of the booking team as well.

“Thankfully I’m in a unique position where everyone who has held the title is still an active part of our booking team, making sure Sweden Rock Festival keeps true to the successful concept we built over the years,” Blomgren tells Audience.

He takes over from vice-president Martin Forssman, who will step down after seven years in the role and 18 years with the festival, but remains on the board of directors.

“Martin has done a great job leading the team these past seven years and I’m very grateful that I get to have him still on my team,” says Blomgren.

This year’s event took place on 5-8 June and featured Kiss, ZZ Top, Def Leppard.
