VETERAN PROMOTER and ticketing pioneer Serge Grimaux has become co-owner and CEO of the 4,000-capacity Forum Karlin in the capital Prague.

He owns the concert venue jointly with developer and philanthropist Serge Bornestein, and Jan Ludvík of Karlín Group not previously linked to the venue).

Grimaux formed pan-eastern Europe operator Ticketpro in 1992 and Intellitix in 2003, which he still heads.

The new owners of the multi-functional hall, which opened in 2014, plan to expand its range of concerts and other entertainment.

“Leading a top concert hall in Prague is a new challenge for me, which I look forward to,” says Grimaux.

Borenstein adds, “I have always wanted to run my own music club, so fulfilling this dream it in my beloved Karlín is unbelievable. Our ambition is to take full advantage of the quality of the concert hall and build a true multifunctional forum for new technologies and ideas for the future.”

Among artistes promoted in the country by Grimaux include the Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, U2, David Bowie and Coldplay.

The venue host shows by domestic and international artistes, with upcoming events featuring James Arthur, Keane and Beth Hart.
