MORE THAN 90 artistes will appear across five stages at this year’s Spring Awakening Music Festival in Chicago, Illinois, after the electronic music event announced a move to a new site.
The festival switches to Poplar Creek, a Northwest Chicago suburb, which boasts 27 acres, which is nearly double that of last year’s site at Addams/Medill Park, which drew 90,000 people .
Organisers say the move will allow for bigger and better stages and more production.
“Complimentary shuttles from nearby Metra stations to the festival grounds will be provided to fest-goers,” says a spokesman for promoter React Presents.
“Also, the grounds are less than 10 minutes from multiple hotel options, and for the first time in the festival’s history, the location will allow for festival parking on site.”
Among the acts performing are Galantis, Zomboy, Yellow Claw, Malaa, Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, B2B 4B, Benny Benassi, Space Jesus, Chris Lake and Claptone.
Hailed as the Midwest’s largest all-electronic festival, previous headliners to the event, which takes place this year from 7-9June, have included Calvin Harris and Moby.
