The new 4,350-capacity Verti Music Hall in Berlin will be a valuable artiste stepping-stone up to the Mercedes-Benz Arena (cap. 18,000), says the company behind both, AEG Operations.

Opened on 12 October with a sell-out concert by former White Stripes frontman Jack White, management expects the venue to host to more than 100 events per year.

Situated 20 metres from the Arena, Verti Music Hall is part of Mercedes Platz leisure district, which includes restaurants, bars, cafes, a bowling alley and a cinema, with two hotels set to open later this year.

“We have spent a lot of time and resource during the planning and construction phase to ensure perfect sightlines and optimal sound,” says AEG Operations vice-president and MD Michael Hapka.  “It also has the greatest possible flexibility for capacity, seating and different types of events.

“The interior of the Music Hall is intimate and high-end in appearance, while the outer concourses have a more urban, industrial style.”

Artistes playing the venue include Hozier, The War On Drugs, Deadmaus, Gloria Gaynor, Boy George & Culture Club, Bastille and Cyprus Hill.
