The three-roomed venue Poppodium Patronaat in Harlem has upgraded its audio system in its two larger rooms, installing SSL L200 consoles at front-of-house and monitor positions, all supplied by SSL Live Distributor Audio Electronics Mattijsen (AEM).

Between them, the 950-, 350-  and 120-capacity rooms host about 500 artistes a year, including Franz Ferdinand, Uriah Heep and Heather Nova.

Patronaat head of sound Benno Linnemann says he first encountered SSL Live working with Dutch artiste Candy Dulfer.

“I had heard a similar quality with high-end analogue desks but never with digital,” he says.

Each console in Patronaat has its own connected SSL SOLSA system (online and offline PC application) for additional touchscreen control where needed.
