Rapino reaches Top 3 in pay chart

Live Nation Entertainment president and CEO Michael Rapino was the third highest paid chief executive in the US in 2017, with earnings amounting to $70.6 million, according to the Equilar 200 Highest Paid CEO Rankings, compiled annually for The New York Times.

CEO pay was calculated based on salary, bonus, stock awards and options, deferred compensation and other benefits and perks. Rapino’s 2017 earnings included a basic salary of $2.4m, a $7.7m cash bonus, $58.6m in stock options, $1.7m in other options, a $1m bonus for the company achieving its goals for adjusted operating income and $80,000 in perks, as filed with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC).

The survey was limited to publicly-traded companies with more than $1 billion in revenue, which had filed statements with SEC between 1 January and 30 April 2018. CEOs also had to be in their current position for at least two years.
