MORE THAN 328,000 live music fans attended three events organised by FKP Scorpio over a single weekend in June, which was a record according to the company.

Twin festivals Hurricane in Scheessel, Lower Saxony, and Southside in Baden-Wuerttemberg attracted 68,000 and 60,000 visitors per day respectively. Headliners across the two events included Foo Fighters, The Cure, Mumford & Sons and Die Toten Hosen

Ed Sheeran’s two sell-out open-air concerts at Hockenheimring in Baden-Wurttemberg attracted 100,000 people per night, breaking his previous record of 80,000 each show.

“With an overall turnover close to €50m [$56m], this weekend had undoubtedly the highest turnover in the history of FKP Scorpio,” says the company’s founder and CEO Folkert Koopmans. “As we as the fans, we had more than 10,000 workers from all over Germany directly or indirectly involved across the events too.”
