Sheeran sets new world record with Divide tour

Ed Sheenan’s Divide tour has become rock’s top grossing and most attended tour, besting U2’s The 360 Tour in 2009-2011, according to US music industry publication Billboard.

The artiste’s 2017-2019 trek grossed $776.2 million over 255 shows and attracted 8.9 million concert-goers.

U2 ‘s tour grossed $736.4m over 110 shows in the round and was seen by 7.3 million fans.

Broken down into regions, Sheeran did 112 shows in Europe grossing $419.7m and selling 4,844,884 tickets, 88 shows in North America grossing $178m with 1,993,746 tickets sold, 18 in Australia grossing $82.6m and selling 1,006,387 tickets, 19 in Asia grossing $55.6m and selling 453,948 tickets, 14 in South America grossing $27.4m and selling 357,325 tickets and four in Africa grossing $12.1m and selling 225,892 tickets.
