Regional ticketing giant and promoter TEG has acquired leading Philippines ticket agency TicketWorld, founded by CEO Bob Sewell in 1995.

Ticketworld works across live music and theatre events, selling tickets for concerts by acts such as Guns N’Roses and Katy Perry, as well as productions including The Lion King, Mamma Mia and Wicked. It operates more than 20 ticketing outlets across the capital Manila.

“The opportunity to grow the market in the Philippines by delivering more entertainment choices will be well received locally,” says Sewell, who will remain with the company.

Geoff Jones, CEO of TEG, which is based in Australia, says the acquisition “demonstrates the focus and commitment to expand the business into multiple Asian markets”.

TEG owns promoter TEG Dainty, leading ticketing provide Ticketek in Australia and New Zealand, TEG Asia in Singapore and has affiliated operations in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Macau.
