Verti Music Hall

More than 100 music concerts are to be held annually at Berlin’s new Verti Music Hall (cap. 4,500), which will open in October with a show by Jack White.

The venue, owned by AEG, is located next to the company’s 17,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz Arena and will be part of an entertainment district, including bars, restaurants and hotels.

Shows with acts including The War on Drugs, Gloria Gaynor, George Ezra and Boy George and Culture Club are among 40 events already on sale.

“Jack White is virtually sold-out and we have a very diverse and well-balanced programme,” booking director Paul Cheetham tells Audience.

“The venue is a little bigger than other venues of this type and definitely fits into the market. Berlin is a growing and developing city.”

Able to accommodate capacities from 2,000, promoters working with Verti include Live Nation, Semmel Concerts, DEAG, FKP Scorpio and Karsten Jahnke Konzertdirektion.

“For acts breaking quickly we can hold dates at both venues,” says Cheetham, who joined AEG last year (see Audience issue 212). “Half-house events that were taking place at the arena and are more suitable to Verti are also moving there.”
